The Longs and Bubba

Tommy Mills with the immortal Muddy Rivers Peanut
part of the famous Bubba, Peanut cross.
Tommy purchased Peanut from Reggie Little in 1994.

Tommy Mills & Peanut

Amos Mann with Blair's Diamond Cutter.
1994 Reserve World Champion. NALC Champion, 1997 Best of the Best,
sire and grand sire of multiple NALC and open champions
including Full Boar's Bodie, Sanglier's CJ, Conch's Sparkle,
Conch's Rowdy, also sire of Weem's Bozo, Open 1st place winner
Uncle Earl's Old and Young. Bozo sold for $10,000 at 10 months old.
"This is one of the best young dog I have ever seen " said Reggie Little.
Unfortunately Bozo died at a young age from a liver condition.
Amos & Susan choose to retire Cutter to stud early,
soon after his Best of the Best win at Uncle Earl's.
His puppies had a reputation of starting early and strong,
along with being beautiful and correct.
Many NALC breeders have introduced his blood into their kennels
of catahoulas and is still one of the most saught after bloodlines in the NALC.
When ask to compare Diamond Cutter to Dugger Bottom Bubba,
Reggie Little said "It is like asking who was better Muhammed Ali or Joe Lewis."
Bubba was a half a step quicker and Cutter couldn't be knocked out.
Either one could beat you, and they both gave their all.

Amos Mann & Cutter

Randall Wiggins with Coushatta winner of the Best of the Best
at Uncle Earl's three times in a row.
Winner of multiple open championships.
I can not speak to you about her bloodlines as I do not
know but I can tell you, you could not hardly beat her.
"I hated to see her coming." said Reggie Little.
She was a once in a life time dog stated Randall Wiggins
with tears in his eyes. She continued to be a first class competitor
and threat into her older years. DeeDee Long
who owned her in her later years said, "she was loved by all."

Comb CH Happy Hollow's Rambler
Oct 10, 1998 - Nov 17, 2007

An unsung hero of his time. Rambler was the lead find dog
on cattle and hogs long before his show career began,
living with the J Cross Catahoula family, where he resided
throughout his lifetime. When the trailer gates opened,
he had a job to do and without fail he got it done.
Whether is was rough country and wild cattle
or open range, it didn't matter to him. Hogs were what he did for fun.
Rambler sired the working string at J Cross Catahoula's kennel
until his death in 2007, but more so, he was the heartbeat
of a youngster's pride when he was lead into the arena,
be it for conformation shows, treeing or baying a hog,
Rambler and Justin were a pair that were so much
fun to watch. Still today, the echo of Justin's voice saying
"Back up Rambler" sings on the breeze. Rambler produced
Comb CH J Cross' Cinder, DBL CH J Cross' Checkers,
Quad GR CH of CH's J Cross' Mr. Twister to name a few,
all money earners in the open hog dog world,
winners in all aspects of NALC competition and day to day
working dogs and was only bred to 4 different bitches.
His pups have earned in excess of 500 points NALC
and $15,000.00 in open events, not counting what he earned himself.

Weems' Tango
July 22, 1999 - January 9, 2007
Weems Catahoulas Plain Dealing, LA

Weems' Tango was bred, trained, and competed by Odis Weems.
Odis was breeding for stopping ability, concentration,
containment of the hog, and the grit it takes for a dog to
hold up to rough eliminator hogs in bay offs. That is exactly
what he got with Tango.

Tango alongwith his litter mates that included Piper,
Cassie, Odis, and Roho were baying hogs at six weeks old
and loving every minute of it. At eight months old Tango
was competing and bringing home trophies and prize money.
He placed 2nd in the 2000 Puppy Bay at uncle Earl's and
his sister Cassie won 3rd place. He placed 5th in the One
Dog at Uncle Earl's in 2001. In 2003 he won Best of the Best.
He tied for 2nd in the One Dog Bay with his kennel mate Curly in 2006.
Tango had multiple championship wins throughout his life.

Weems' Catahoulas has been very fortunate to have produced
a proven bloodline of top hog dogs through Tango. Some of his pups
have been used in the woods, and many are top competitors in baying
competitions today.

His pups have taken several spots at Uncle Earl's Hog Dog Trials
2006 Puppy Bay 1st Place Weems' Sadie Mae
2nd Place Weems' BB
2007 Puppy Bay 1st Place Weems' Spanky
2008 Puppy Bay 1st Place Weems' Molly
2008 One Dog 3rd Place Weems' BB at age 3
2008 Old & Young 3rd Place Weems' Hondo at age 2
And many more great dogs sired by Tango are actively
competing on the baying circuit with success. Tango is sire or
grandsire to dogs owned by dedicated trainers and breeders
throughout the south. We feela humbling pride when we have
people say that want to add the Weems' bloodline to their kennel.

In January of 2007, Weems' Catahoulas was honored as the
American Bay Dog Registry's 2006 Breeder of the Year due to the success
of breeding Tango's bloodline.

Tango was a strong dog and full of grit. He always stirred the
crowd with excitement. Tango was not only a working dog but also our
loyal and loving pet and we still miss him.

We want to extend a very special Thank You to Reggie and Ann
Little for recognizing and remembering our Tango.

Sincerely,
Odis & Gayla Weems
Weems' Catahoulas

Montana

Cashata had only one litter of pups in her lifetime
and Montana is the only living heir of that litter.
Cashata was one of the toughest dogs in the bay world
and Montana has carried on that tradition with the same
intensity and unique baying style. He is known throughout
the bay world for his “stopping power”. Montana has
consistently produced proven pups that compete in the woods,
bay pen or working cattle. His blood line is in every state that
competes in the bay world. In 2005 he had 22 competing, winning,
dogs (record compiled by American Bay Dog registry).
Since that year we haven’t tried to keep records.
At the American Bay Dog 2005 World Championship
he earned the title of Breeder of the Year. As with all of
these dogs we love so, he loves what he does best, baying hogs!

Mr Bell & Montana

Capt Black's Bubba Gump

He was not the greatest bay dog but he could not be beat at the tree.
He championed out before he was a year old.
He has left his bloodline in the NALC and NKC.
My son casey raised Bubba from a pup and they were two peas in a pod.
Bubba passed last year and casey lost his best friend.
My son and Bubba did baying and treeing and it was a blessing to see them work.
Those days are gone but not forgotten.
Thanks to the Littles for all the time we came to your place and bayed and had a family get together.
The Slimans.

Bubba & Casey

Tommy Laman and 3L Bo 1994 UBPA , NKC World Champion,
without a doubt one of the best dogs and one of the best dog
trainers I ever had the pleasure of competiting against. Bo will
live in my memory and Tommy Laman will remain my dearest friend
till the day I die, says Reggie Little.
